Surah 4:136-176 -- Jesus wasn't really crucified, it just looked that way

The end of Surah 4 contains a bit of news about Jesus, something you may not have heard about before.

Here it is: Allah and Jesus worked together to make his death appear to be a bloody crucifixion, but it was all just a fancy magic trick. Jesus didn't really die, it just looked that way.

Oh sure, the Jews like to brag about killing the Messiah (we've all heard them do that), but they didn't really. Allah tricked them, just for the heck of it.

And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them. 4:157a

Allah and Jesus faked the whole bloody mess. Jesus beamed up to heaven and had some stand-in* do the crucifixion for him.

And lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain. But Allah took him up unto Himself. 4:157b-8

The rest of the section repeats the same old stuff that we've already heard and have grown tired of. Allah will neither help nor forgive disbelievers or apostates (4:137-143), but purposefully misleads them so that he can burn them in hell after they die (4:167-170). Muslims should not have them for friends (4:144). Oh, and women are worth half a much as men (4:176).

There is one other verse that I should mention, though. Here it is.

Do not exaggerate in your religion. 4:171

There's a name for people who don't exaggerate in their religion. They're called atheists.

Ah yes! I heard this while I was in Iraq. That jesus didn't die on the cross, but fake his death with allah's help.

The quran comes accross to me as a rip off of the bible, and I don't just say that to be an jerk.

The quran has segments that are stolen from that bible like the laws regarding women, and kane and able, just to name a couple. And they are nearly word for word!!! o.0

The muslims say you need to read the quran in Arabic to fully understand the book, ok thats fine, but when the book says the same thing over and over, the use of that paper-defense of "you can't understand it unless you read it in Arabic" doesn't hold much water, I don't think the scribe and translators goofed up that bad!

To be honest I don't know nearly as much about the quran as I do about the bible, but thats the way both the christains and the muslims help supprt their argument in the hope that you are ignorant of the "holy book".

But for me, I mostly deal with christain fundamentalist rather than muslims.

@Med Mid The Quran is Not a Book inspired by God nor the Angel Gabriel like Muhammad once claim to be visited by! I will show you from Islamic sources including Qur'anic scriptures:

Sura an-Najm (Star) 53:19-22

Now tell me about Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat,
The third one, another goddess.
What! For you the males and for him the females!
That indeed is an unfair division.

When Muhammad and his community came under severe persecution, eighty-three of his followers who had no protection emigrated from Mecca to Ethiopia, taking refuge in the ancient Christian country, Abyssinia. Under increasing boycotts and pressure, Muhammad went through a time of weakness and compromised with the Meccan pagans by acknowledging the existence of three pagan goddesses alongside Allah: Lat, Uzza, and Manat. The Arabian goddesses are mentioned in Sura an-Najm (Star) 53:19-22.

When the inhabitants of Mecca heard Muhammad's confess the importance of the ancient goddesses inside the Ka'aba, they immediately revoked their ban on him. Those who had immigrated to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) started to return home after hearing Muhammad's confession and his acceptance in Mecca. But when they arrived, they were shocked to hear that Muhammad had retracted his confession and admitted that he had fallen prey to the whispering of Satan. Thus, today Islam considers Sura an-Najm (Star) 53:19-22 are related to the time when Muhammad spoke the the Satanic Verses.

In Sura Hajj (Pilgrimage) 22:52-53, Muhammad confessed his mistake, alleging that all prophets were tempted by Satan who inspire them with demonic verses, as if they were actually revealed by God. But later on Allah abrogated those Satanic Verses with new revelations and instructs his prophets with new verses. According to Islam, Allah permits such demonic inspiration to test weak believers and to cut off those with hardened hearts.

Never did We send a messenger or a prophet before thee, but, when he framed a desire, Satan threw some (vanity) into his desire: but Allah will cancel anything (vain) that Satan throws in, and Allah will confirm (and establish) His Signs: for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom:
That He may make the suggestions thrown in by Satan, but a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease and who are hardened of heart: verily the wrong-doers are in a schism far (from the Truth): Hajj (Pilgrimage) 22:52-53. Yusuf 'Ali's translation

The true, vital issue about the Satanic verses is this. If Muhammad were unable to distinguish Satan's voice from God's voice, then could there be verses in the Qur'an that Muhammad assumed were from God but were really from Satan? Maybe much of the Qur'an is Satanic in origin, in spite of Muhammad's conviction that it was entirely from Allah.

The Qur'an clearly states that Muhammad spoke in the name of God and that he said things that God had not commanded him! Next, he charges that all the prophets of God voiced Satanic statements! According to the holy law of God, Muhammad ought to have been put to death as a false prophet! According to the Holy Scriptures, if a prophet spoke anything in the name of LORD that was not from Him, the prophet must be put to death! Muhammad spoke in the name of Allah and then admitted that he had really spoken the words of Satan.

But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death. Deuteronomy 18:20

Conclusion: Muhammad was NOT inspired by God Nor a prophet! Allah was a pre-Islamic deity of Mecca among many, but was the chief of the pantheon. Beneath him were various subordinate deities (360 in total), including his daughters Allat, Al-Uzza and Manat.

Depending on how you discern this text it's actually biblically sound & I will show you how. They did not kill him, "Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. >>No man taketh it from me,<< but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." (John 10:17-18)

He was called up into heaven, "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."(Luke 23:46)

Ummmm melkizedechian yeah from our perspective of Resurrection but the Quran is clear it says they out someone else in his place, Judah as some muslim scholars will claim to be crucified. So it's not biblical sound, its actual anti Christ, it denies the essence of salvation.

Read Gal. 3:1 in versions besides the KJV..they agree with the Quran, that Jesus was "portrayed" as crucified. Actors who play Jesus in movies are portrayed as crucified, but they are not crucified, of course
