EJ&T: Leviticus 15: God's laws about infected penises, semen, and menstruating women

In the Every Jot and Tittle project, I am listing all of the Bible's commandments from Genesis to Revelation, in accordance with Jesus's words in Matthew 5:18-19. I have no idea how many commandments I'll find, but Jewish tradition claims there are 613. See here for a list of those that I've found so far.

  1. The law about infected penises.
  2. A man with an infected penis is unlclean, whether it drips or not. Whatever he touches is also unclean. If he touches you, you must wash your clothes, take a bath, and be unclean until the evening.

And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean. And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness. Every bed, whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, whereon he sitteth, shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth his bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And he that sitteth on any thing whereon he sat that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And he that toucheth the flesh of him that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. Leviticus 15:1-7

  3. What to do if a man with an infected penis spits on you.
  4. If a man with an infected penis spits on you, then you must wash your clothes, take a bath, and be unclean until the evening.

And if he that hath the issue spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And what saddle soever he rideth upon that hath the issue shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth any thing that was under him shall be unclean until the even: and he that beareth any of those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And whomsoever he toucheth that hath the issue, and hath not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. Leviticus 15:8-11

  5. What to do if a man with an infected penis touches a pot.
  6. If a man with an infected penis touches a clay pot, it must be broken. If he touches a wood pot, it must be washed.

And the vessel of earth, that he toucheth which hath the issue, shall be broken: and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water. Leviticus 15:12

  7. The infected penis healing ritual.
  8. When the man with the infected penis gets well, he must wash his clothes and take a bath. On the eighth day he must bring two doves or two pigeons to a priest who will kill one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering. This will make an atonement to the Lord.

And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean. And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the LORD unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them unto the priest: And the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD for his issue. Leviticus 15:13-15

  9. What to do when a man ejaculates.
  10. Whenever a man ejaculates, he must wash in water and be unclean until evening. Whatever clothes or skin comes in contact with the semen must be washed and be unclean until the evening. If a woman was somehow involved in any of this, she also must take a bath and be unclean until the evening.

And if any man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even. And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even. The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even. Leviticus 15:16-18

  11. What to do with menstruating women.
  12. A menstruating woman must be isolated for seven days. Whoever touches her is unclean until the evening. Everything that she touches is unclean, including whatever she sits upon. If you touch her bed, you must wash your clothes, take a bath, and be unclean until the evening. If you touch anything that she has sat on, you must take a bath and be unclean until the evening.

And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. And if it be on her bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even. Leviticus 15:19-23

  13. Don't have sex with menstruating women.
  14. Any man who has sex with a menstruating women will be unclean for seven days. And the bed that they had sex on is unclean.

And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean. Leviticus 15:24
Thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness. Leviticus 18:19

  15. Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  16. If a woman has vaginal bleeding outside of her regular menstrual period, she is unclean. Every bed, chair, or other object that she touches in such a condition is also unclean. If you touch anything that she has touched, you must wash your clothes, take a bath, and be unclean until the evening.

And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean. Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation. And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. Leviticus 15:25-27

  17. The post menstrual ritual atonement sacrifice
  18. A menstruating women is clean after she is no longer bleeding and has been isolated for seven days. On the eighth day she must take two doves or two pigeons and bring them to a priest. He will kill them at the door of the tabernacle, one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. By so doing, the priest makes an atonement for her sin of uncleanness before the Lord.

But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean. And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness. Leviticus 15:28-30

Sir,

As per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Gerizim
The Torah commanded the Israelites on first entering Canaan to celebrate the event with a ceremony of blessings and cursings respectively on Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal,[4][5] The masoretic text of the Tanakh says the Israelites later built an altar on Mount Ebal, constructed from natural (rather than cut) stones, to place stones there and whiten them with lime,[2] to make peace offerings on the altar, eat there, and write the words of this law on the stone.[6] The Samaritan Pentateuch version of Deuteronomy, and a fragment found at Qumran,[7] holds that the instruction actually mandated the construction of the altar on Mount Gerizim, which the Samaritans view is the site of the tabernacle, not Shiloh.[8][9] Recent Dead Sea Scrolls work supports the accuracy of the Samaritan Pentateuch's designation of Mount Gerizim rather than Mount Ebal as the sacred site.

Samaritan split is dated to BCE 120 And Dead Sea Scrolls to say BCE 50.

So when was Solomon Temple and Jerusalem zion stories were made

Sir,
You are somewhat off-topic here. This thread is about infected penises, semen and menstruating women. Do you have anything to contribute?
