They feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them. 2 Kings 17.25He also likes you to obey his laws, even if you've never heard of them before. If you are unfamiliar with his laws or don't follow them properly, he'll send lions to eat you.
The nations which ... know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land. 17.26I just thought you should know that.
(The Bible only says that God's lions killed "some of them." I'll guess that there were 10 that were eaten by lions.)

Those Barbara Griffiths drawings certainly display the utter depravity of Yahweh in a most poignant manner...
It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.

Hm, I'm surprised I've never heard of this verse before. And to think that previous killing from a lion was bad...
Soooooo mean that you can get killed for not fearing something that you don't even know exists !
Believers ?
Why aren't all the sarcastic commenters on this blog eaten by lions ?
That's like Columbus killing the Native Americans for not being Christians; it's fucking depraved.
Even though this is probably sarcastic, the spaniards did kill Inca people because they were not christians. At least they used is as an excuse.

They killed Atahualpa because he trew a bible aside.
Sad, to those of us who believe in God, some understand that God's way are most of the time a mystery, He has more knowledge and understanding than any of us humans who live only but a short lifespan and can only judge from our own biased opinions. What God does is justified before Himself as He knows everything. It's not for us to fully comprehend. Yet if you are still wondering why many bad things happen, just go read the book of proverbs, then Ecclesiastes, then the book of Job. It reveals good and bad, when good and bad don't work how we think they should, and finally when a man who does no wrong is removed from his blessings and even he recognizes that nothing belongs to him in the first places, but everything is God's as He chooses to do with.
